Projects

The European identity has always been the focus of my interest, and Europe, stretching from the Atlantic to the Caucasus, has been the geographical area I have travelled and documented. The people I have photographed have allowed me to seek out my own culture, roots, and destiny. I don’t like to feel separate from the people I portray, but at the same time I am drawn to the furthest frontiers, where cultures collide and often dramatically assert themselves. Identity becomes more apparent at the edges rather than at the centre of any location. In the places where everything seems precarious and fragile, it is possible to see more clearly.
